There’s quite a few people who would like Amber Heard to not return as Mera in Aquaman 2. Don’t believe me? Check out the petition that has 1.5 million signatures on it. The petition was created by Jeanne Larson. It’s addressed to the executives at both DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. In total, it has 1,579,927 signatures – which is half of its targeted 3 million signatures.
This petition is due to the reports of domestic abuse by Heard during her relationship with Johnny Depp. It should be noted that Johnny Depp was also accused of domestic violence. Which, resulted in his firing from Fantastic Beasts 3.
Larson writes in her description from the petition:
“Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry. Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.“
