What Does That Cameo in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Mean for the Future of the MCU?

Major Spoilers If You Haven’t Seen Episode Five

Marvel has done it again – keeping a cameo close to the chest. Who knew we would be seeing the great Julia Louis-Dreyfus pop up in an episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier? I didn’t, but it was an epic moment. Not only was she great in it, but she was playing Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. In the comics, Contessa’s alias is Madame Hydra and she appears in the episode when John Walker was just told that he was no longer Captain America. And it looked like she was recruiting him.

Louis-Dreyfus was meant to make her debut in Black Widow, but with COVID-19, everything needed to be pushed back. Still, she has so much potential in the MCU. As essentially the Nick Fury of bad organizations, we see that a misfit sort of group is being teased to form. John Walker, Zemo…maybe even Sharon Carter may all start being connected to Madame Hydra – who, maybe is the infamous Power Broker? We don’t know for sure, but there’s so much potential with her.

Could Valentina be putting together the Thunderbolts? What about the Femme Force? Also, did you know that her character was a love interest for Nick Fury? The future is so bright with Valentina.

What did you think of Louis-Dreyfus’s cameo this episode?
