Battlecats

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So, a few days ago I was offered a chance to review the first five issues of Mad Cave Studios last comic . Honestly I was pleasantly surprised. I’m always on the lookout for interesting and unique characters and stories in the comic book world and these guys over at Mad Cave Studios did not disappoint at all.

Right off the bat, it really hit me in the old nostalgia. The animation style and dialogue immediately reminded me of classic 80s cartoon, and I don’t mean that in a negative way. Quite the contrary, it boosted my emotional experience as I read the comics. I really love the way the artist drew the fight scenes and some of the standalone dialogue scenes. The art work between the cats and the villains were very reminiscent of He-man and the Masters of the universe. They also seem to pull inspiration from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and of course Thundercats. To be fair, this is nothing like Thundercats. With that being said, I would be curious to find out if the story writers and the artists were influenced by 80s cartoon and Thundercat because for me it actually draws some similarities.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”12″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”10″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]I think the comics have a very interesting and thought out narrative. I really like the characters and the world that the BattleCats encompass. They are a group filled with unique and interesting characters, who each have their own unique working personality’s. The artwork for me is phenomenal, especially in the battle scenes. There are a few parts in particular where the BattleCats are fighting hundreds and hundreds of bad guys, and it’s drawn so amazingly well, that it keeps you engaged. When you mix all that together. Through in some unique characters with a great story, and you got your self a pretty good comic book.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”13″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”14″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_shadow_border” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Overall, I really enjoyed BattleCats issues one through five. They have a charm about them that makes them interesting. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the stories and watch these characters grow. So, if you’re on the lookout for a brand new interesting comic book, then I highly recommend you checking out BattleCats issues one through five. Mad Cave Studios is doing some amazing things, you well not be disappointed![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
