[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15249″ img_size=”656×343″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We are just two months away from DC releasing Shazam! and today thanks to Collider we have some news on the Black Adam front. It seems like ages since Dwayne Johnson was cast as Black Adam and many have wondered if we would even see him portray Shazam’s arch nemesis. Hiram Garcia, who runs Seven Bucks Production, told Collider that Dwayne, Dany Garcia and himself all had a hand in Shazam! and will also help on the Black Adam movie. Hiram made sure to mention that despite all that both movies would feel very different from each other.
“Seven Bucks helped develop Shazam and while the film exists in the same universe as our upcoming Black Adam film, both projects have their own unique tone and vibe, We’re so excited with how the movie turned out and Zachary Levi is perfect as Shazam.”
This could be understandable as the origin story of a kid becoming a superhero would probably more friendly and lighter in tone where as Black Adam will probably have a more darker and serious feel to it. Not without jokes though I am sure as The Rock loves to throw around those one liners.
Hiram spoke more about why we are not seeing Black Adam in the Shazam film
“So as we were developing an actual Black Adam and Shazam movie, we were just realizing that both characters are so special that we didn’t want to compromise either of them by cramming them both into the same movie, So that’s why we made the decision to let Shazam have his own standalone movie and kind of launch him properly, and then we’ll do the same for Black Adam. And so that kind of really freed things up. It allowed us to develop the right version of both.”
The good news to take away from of this is we are getting Black Adam news! This means it is still, for now, happening and we can look forward to the showdown between Shazam and Black Adam in not so distant future. There have been whispers on Reddit and social media that Black Adam will be teased or mentioned in the Shazam! film but do not expect to see The Rock showing up on screen.
How do you feel about this news? Are you excited to finally see Black Adam?
