Yes, but think of the Doman Enclave as a small weekly bonus, not a main gil farm. After you finish the reconstruction, the Donation Basket can pay up to 200% of an item’s normal vendor value. At the final weekly cap, items worth 20,000 gil to a regular NPC can return 40,000 gil in Doma. Your extra gain is therefore 20,000 gil, not 40,000.
If you need a lot more Gil right now, “Doman’s Enclave” alone won’t solve this problem. A faster option would be to buy FFXIV gil on the marketplace. However, if you prefer to earn gil in-game, “The Enclave” is an easy way to do so, as it lets you turn items you were already planning to sell to a merchant into a more profitable return.
What Do You Need to Unlock the Doman Enclave Reconstruction?
Doman Enclave Reconstruction is level 70 side content from the Stormblood era. Before the donation system opens, you need to complete the post-Stormblood MSQ quest Elation and Trepidation, the Doman Adventurers’ Guild quest Short Arms of the Law, and A Thousand and One Farewells.
The reconstruction story begins with Precious Reclamation from Kozakura in the Doman Enclave. The actual donation system is unlocked through It Takes an Enclave.
There is also a story gate later. Once your reconstruction progress reaches 120,000 gil in total donations, further progress requires the MSQ quest Emissary of the Dawn. If the Donation Basket seems to stop advancing at that point, check your Main Scenario progress.
How Does the Weekly Gil Bonus Work?
You donate items through the Donation Basket near the Shazenkai. The game values each item by its normal NPC selling price and then applies the current gratuity rate.
The reconstruction starts at 120%. As the enclave improves, that rate rises to 150%, then 180%, and finally 200%. The weekly payout budget also grows with progress, from 20,000 gil at the start to 40,000 gil when the reconstruction is complete.
The budget resets with the weekly reset on Tuesday. Once you have used the full budget, you need to wait for the next reset before donating more for gil.
This is why Doman Enclave income is very predictable. There is no rare drop or Market Board demand to worry about. The trade-off is the hard weekly cap.
How Much Extra Gil Do You Actually Make?
A simple example shows the difference between payout and profit.
An Allagan Gold Piece sells to a normal NPC for 2,500 gil. Eight Gold Pieces therefore have a normal vendor value of 20,000 gil. At the final 200% Doman rate, those same eight pieces return 40,000 gil.
Normal NPC sale: 20,000 gil
Doman Enclave payout: 40,000 gil
Extra gil gained: 20,000 gil
The 40,000 gil is not all profit. You already owned items worth 20,000 gil.
This matters even more if you buy items only to donate them. In that case, subtract what you paid. Buying 20,000 gil worth of items and receiving 40,000 gil can still make money, but the result depends on the purchase price. Do not buy random Market Board items just because Doma pays 200%.
What Should You Donate?
The best donations are items that already have a clear vendor value and little better use elsewhere.
Allagan Pieces are the easiest example. They exist mainly to be exchanged for gil, and retainers often bring them back from ventures. Clear Demimateria is another common choice, especially for players who have piles of it from Eureka or desynthesis.
Old gear, materials, and other vendor trash can also work if you would otherwise sell them to an NPC. Bound items that still have a vendor price may be useful here as well.
Before donating tradeable items, check the Market Board. Some old materia, crafting materials, or unusual items can sell to another player for far more than twice their NPC price. Doma is good at improving vendor trash. It is not automatically the best place for every unwanted item.
Is the Doman Enclave Worth Adding to Your Weekly Routine?
For most players who have already unlocked it, yes. The final extra profit is only about 20,000 gil per week, but the work takes very little time if you save Allagan Pieces, Clear Demimateria, or other low-value items between resets.
Community discussions around the activity are very consistent on this point: players rarely treat Doma as a serious money-making method. They treat it as a quick weekly stop that converts clutter into a little more gil. That makes it useful for casual players and anyone who already has vendor trash waiting on retainers.
It is less attractive if you are unlocking the whole reconstruction only for money. Progress is time-gated, and 20,000 extra gil per week is small compared with active Market Board trading, crafting, gathering, treasure maps, or other endgame methods.
For a wider look at those options, our FFXIV gil farming guide compares the main ways to make money and helps you choose a method based on your level and available time.
So, is the Doman Enclave a good way to make gil? It is a good weekly bonus and a smart place for the right junk items. It is not a replacement for a real gil-making strategy.
