What does S.J Clarkson, Bart Layton, and Yann Demange have in common? Other than being up and coming Directors, they are also in contention to possibly direct the 25th James Bond movie replacing Danny Boyle who left the production on August 21st. As reported by Variety, Producers are working with renewed vigor to try to salvage the scheduled release date by hiring their Director sooner rather than later. Both Layton and Demange have recently released movies that have been received with high praise. Clarkson was picked to helm the 4th Star Trek film which would make her the first woman to head the Star Trek franchise. If she were picked for James Bond it would be a first as well for it’s storied history.
Meanwhile, Daniel Craig is trying to keep himself occupied as the search progresses. He is hoping to be working on Rian Johnson’s newest film with the plan being for a November start for shooting. If so, this should not interfere with the new Bond picture filming, provided they are able to keep the schedule allotted.
Are you hoping that Boyle’s replacement can be selected in time for production and release dates to be met or is it more important to hire the right Director, regardless of the timeframe?
