ABC Drama Series NYPD Blue is Getting a Revival

NYPD Blue was one of ABC’s best and made waves by showing nudity and cursing on network television. With the original creator’s son and wife as executive producers, a sizeable pilot has been ordered, and we could be seeing a new generation of viewers enjoying the well-known crime drama.

Penned by Matt Olmstead and Nick Wootton, who both worked on the original series; the show will follow Andy Sipowicz’s son as he tries to make a name for himself and will be investigating his father’s murder.

Original creator Steven Bochco passed the past April after a battle against cancer, but his family will be a part of bringing back some of the best television people have viewed. NYPD Blue earned 84 Emmy nominations and won for best drama series in 1995.

Theo, the son of Sipowicz; was born to Sipowicz and his wife in season three.
