Amanda Seyfried will play the role previously held by Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Holmes in the limited drama series based on the ABC News/ABC Radio’s podcast about the fall of Holmes and her company Theranos. In addition, Seyfried will serve as the producer on the project.
Elizabeth Holmes was a Stanford dropout before she founded the medical testing start-up Theranos. The company was praised by the likes of Steve Jobs and was once worth billions. However, things fell apparent when it was discovered that none of the tech worked – which, put thousands of people’s health in danger. The limited series will explore how something so terribly wrong happened so quickly.
