Lisbeth Salander is the popular character from Stieg Larsson’s Millenium books. Made popular by both Swedish and American versions of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, fans will get a treat from Amazon.
The streaming service is currently developing a series around this character and will be named The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It should be said that this is not a sequel or a continuation of any book or film. Rather, it’s going to be a new story and new characters. Seemingly, the series is capitalizing on the name of the book and movie that has made Lisbeth so popular, but not actually following that plot.
So far, there’s no writer or lead actress attached. Noomi Rapace played the character in the Swedish trilogy, while Rooney Mara portrayed Lisbeth in the 2011 American adaptation that I’m still waiting for a sequel of. Oh, and Claire Foy played her in the forgettable 2018 The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
