Daniel Dae Kim, Katie Chang, and Scoot McNairy have joined AMC’s upcoming animated drama, Pantheon. The series was given a two-season order by the network in March. This one-hour show is based on the short stories created by Ken Liu about Uploaded Intelligence. The first season will be eight episodes and focus on Chang’s character, Maddie.
Maddie is a bullied teen who then receives help online from a mysterious person. Eventually, the stranger is revealed to be her deceased father, David – voiced by Kim. David’s consciousness had previously been uploaded to the cloud after an experimental destructive brain scan.
Kim, Chang, and McNairy join Paul Dano, Taylor Schilling, Aaron Eckhart, and Rosemarie Dewitt. Pantheon comes from Craig Silverstein. Silverstein stated:
“Ken’s engaging and thought-provoking short stories pave the way for a deeply gripping series, and I couldn’t ask for a greater group of talented voices to bring these complex characters to life.”
The full cast includes Daniel Dae Kim, Katie Chang , Paul Dano, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Aaron Eckhart, Taylor Schilling, Ron Livingston, Chris Diamantopoulos, Raza Jaffrey, and Scoot McNairy.
