American Gods’ Actor Says Reports Of Show in Shambles Is an Exaggeration

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14763″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]If I had a dime for every time I read an American Gods article that started off with “despite massive turmoil behind the scenes”, I’d say I’d be a relatively wealthy woman. Simply put, it seems that anytime anyone wants to talk about the STARZ show, they want to talk about the fact that the production has had some changes occur between season one and season two. Which, from what I can see, happens with a lot of shows and movies – so are they just blowing it out of proportion for the purpose of “clickbait”?

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, main star Ricky Whittle defended the series against these allegations:

“There was a lot written — I think there was one article that came out that said we were in shambles and turmoil, and it was going to be a mess, and it was over-budget. That’s such an exaggeration and not accurate at all.”

Whittle then went on to comment, in regards to season two:

“It’s just mountains out of molehills. Fans don’t need to worry about this. Starz is 100 percent behind us and they’ve given us amazing feedback on season 2. I genuinely feel season 2 is better than season 1, especially as we come to the finale. Fans are going to lose their minds.”

From what I can see with the promotions, teasers, and trailers, I have no doubt it’s going to be good. This is American Gods, have a little faith!

American Gods season two comes out March 10th!
