We’ve got some exciting news, and it comes straight from the protagonist, Ricky Whittle’s, mouth. The third season of American Gods, based on Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name, is slated to return to Starz with ten episodes this year. That’s right, TEN (not eight) opportunities to swoon and drool over Shadow Moon.
The series, which features a seemingly endless supply of Gods – I’m talking everything from Ancient Egyptian Gods to hundreds of interpretations of Jesus – will be served by new showrunner Charles H. Eglee. As far as the storyline is concerned, your guess is as good as mine. The general consensus is that the third season will follow Shadow Moon’s plight as he claims a new identity, hides from the Gods and attempts to put roots down in Lakeside, Wisconsin.
In a video tweet released this afternoon, Ricky had the following to say: “You guys wanted more, you’re getting more. Not just eight episodes…ten! That is two extra hours of me, Shadow Moon.”
Watch it go down below. As many times as you want. You’re welcome.
