Andy Serkis Set to Direct Adaptation of George Orwell’s ‘ANIMAL FARM’ Next

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will premiere tomorrow; director Andy Serkis already has another gig on the horizon. According to reports, Serkis will be directing Animal Farm. A film adaptation of the George Orwell novel.

Serkis is both an actor and a director and he’s clearly gotten a taste for directing, as it will be no easy task to direct the anthropomorphic political cautionary tale. The novel centers around a group of farm animals who end up rebelling against the human who owns them in order to create a “free and fair society”. This eventually turns into a dictatorship and was first published in 1945.

Serkis revealed:

“I’ve got a whole bunch of movies that are kind of in development, but what comes up, likely, [will be] Animal Farm, I think is probably the next thing that I’m doing. George Orwell’s Animal Farm. That is actually currently in the early works of being developed into a movie.”

What do you think of Serkis directing Animal Farm?
