Apple’s $250 million Siri AI settlement is now accepting claims, giving eligible iPhone buyers in the United States a chance to receive money over features they say were promised but never delivered.
The official settlement website is live. Qualifying buyers could receive up to $95 per device, although that figure comes with an important catch: it is the maximum possible payment, not a guaranteed check.
Why Is Apple Paying a Settlement?
The lawsuit centered on Apple’s promotion of enhanced Siri capabilities. Buyers alleged that the company’s advertising led them to purchase iPhones expecting Apple Intelligence features they did not receive.
As The Verge reports, the dispute followed Apple’s preview of new AI features at WWDC 2024 and the subsequent iPhone 16 launch. The gap between the marketing and what buyers could actually use became the issue.
Apple denies wrongdoing. Agreeing to the settlement does not mean the company has admitted the allegations.
Which iPhones Qualify?
The covered models are:
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
- iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
- iPhone 16e
Eligibility also depends on when and where you bought the phone. You must live in the United States and have purchased a qualifying device in the U.S. between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.
The settlement requires you to be the original purchaser. Personal and business purchases can qualify, but devices purchased for resale do not. Owning one of the listed models alone does not establish eligibility.
How Much Could You Receive?
The settlement website lists a payment of $25 per eligible device, subject to adjustment. That amount could rise to $95 or fall below $25, depending on valid claims and other factors.
Settlement expenses, including administration and court-awarded legal fees, come out of the fund before payments are distributed. For now, there is no fixed amount every approved claimant can count on.

Visit SmartphoneAISettlement.com to review the eligibility rules and select File A Claim. The website provides options for individuals and businesses.
Have your purchase information and device details handy. You can find an iPhone’s serial number under Settings > General > About, or check its original packaging.
The filing deadline is December 21, 2026. Follow the claim form’s instructions and review your information before submitting.
When Will Payments Arrive?
Submitting a claim does not trigger an immediate payment. A final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027, when the court will consider whether to approve the settlement.
