If you’re an avid gamer, and you spend a fair chunk of your time dedicated to this, have you thought about taking it one step further and trying to turn it into a career? We know that you might not think that this is possible, but there are a lot of people who have attempted to do this, and have actually managed to do so successfully.

We’re not saying that everyone can do this, because the truth is that they can’t, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t try. In this article, we’re going to be giving you some tips to help you get started here, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.

    Improve Your Gaming Set Up

We’re going to kick things off by suggesting that you improve your gaming setup. If you’re going to try and turn this into a career, you need the best possible setup that you can afford so that your sessions are the best they can be.

Look into the best possible monitor or TV depending on what console you’re going to be using and what you find most comfortable. Think about the keyboard and mouse, or the controller that you’re going to use. Think about the headset that you want, and more. You can even go as far as to get some decorations to make the space look better.

    Get On Social Media

You’re then going to need to get on social media under your gamertag and start working on building a following. If you already have social media but don’t want to use your personal account, you’re going to need a temporary phone number to get through the SMS verification part of signing up to a new account.

Once you’ve got the account up and running, you need to make sure you’re posting updates, content, and pictures regularly. This keeps people interested, keeps them engaged, and will help you grow your following.

    Streaming

The final thing that you’re going to need to consider is streaming regularly. You want people to see your gaming sessions, see how good you are, and there are platforms in which people can send you money and gifts for this.

You never know who is watching, so make sure that you’re creating an online persona as your business. It might take some time for you to perfect this, but you want to be recognizable as a brand in the end, and that’s easier said than done. However, you will become more comfortable doing this with time, so just give yourself that settling in period where you feel a little awkward, and then you’ll be okay.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now have a stronger understanding of how you may be able to turn your gaming hobby into a career. Is it going to be easy? Probably not. Is it going to take a lot of time and effort? Of course it is. Should that put you off from doing it anyway? Definitely not.
