Arrow Video has announced three new titles to join their collection on 4K UHD and Blu-Ray in May: Blue Thunder (1983), G.I. Samurai (1979), and Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves (1991). These represent an action-packed sci-fi thriller, a time-traveling sci-fi epic, and a blockbuster medieval adventure. Details on these films can be found below:
Blue Thunder [4K UHD Limited Edition]
Street Date: May 5, 2026
Synopsis: In 1983, director John Badham (WarGames) followed his smash hit Saturday Night Fever with Blue Thunder, an adrenaline-packed fusion of techno-thriller grit and blockbuster spectacle. This tale of airborne surveillance and institutional overreach became a defining genre snapshot of Reagan-era anxiety, shot through with Hollywood muscle and a prescient distrust of unchecked technology.
Roy Scheider (Jaws) stars as Frank Murphy, a veteran LAPD helicopter pilot picked to test-fly Blue Thunder, an experimental attack chopper bristling with unprecedented surveillance capabilities. When Murphy uncovers a covert plot to weaponize the aircraft for domestic policing, he takes to the skies in open rebellion. Hunted through the city by his own unit and shadowy government architects, Murphy’s final patrol becomes a white-knuckle fight for justice – and survival.
Co-starring Warren Oates (Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), and Candy Clark (American Graffiti), Blue Thunder delivers heart-pounding suspense and sky-high stakes. A landmark of analog-age futurism, it remains a razor-sharp thrill ride that fires on all cylinders from beginning to end.

Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves [4K UHD Limited Edition]
Street Date: May 26, 2026
Synopsis: From Errol Flynn to Disney, Hollywood has long been fascinated with the legend of Robin Hood. Helmed by director Kevin Reynolds (Waterworld, The Count of Monte Cristo), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves pays homage to the past while transforming the famous outlaw of Sherwood Forest into a movie icon fit for the 1990s.
Robin of Locksley (Kevin Costner, Dances with Wolves, The Bodyguard) returns from the Crusades to find his father dead and vows revenge. With his Moorish companion Azeem (Morgan Freeman, Unforgiven, The Shawshank Redemption), he joins a band of peasant rebels to do battle against the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman, Die Hard, Galaxy Quest) and win the hand of the fair Maid Marian (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Scarface, The Abyss), cousin of the absent King of England.
This grand, swashbuckling adventure in the classic tradition is brought to life by an all-star supporting cast, including Christian Slater (True Romance), Brian Blessed (Flash Gordon) and a memorable cameo from Sean Connery (himself a former Robin Hood), plus an instantly recognizable score by Michael Kamen (Highlander) – not to mention a chart-topping Bryan Adams theme song.
