As Disney-Fox Merger Progresses, Fox Rebrands Itself to Fox Entertainment

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15150″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Fox-Disney’s merger is well underway, according to Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch who say that the deal is making “significant progress”:

“Our company delivered another strong quarter of financial results, underpinned by distribution and advertising revenue increases at our domestic cable networks and broadcast businesses and the substantial gain on our sale of Sky. These results reflect our continued commitment to excellence in all aspects of our business. There has also been significant progress regarding the transaction with Disney and the spin-off of Fox Corporation including the effectiveness of the Form 10.”

With progress being made in this deal, it seems like Fox Broadcasting is deciding to also rebrand itself as “Fox Entertainment”, an independent company following the merger. The CEO of this new venture, Charlie Collier, commented:

“We’ve renamed simply Fox Entertainment,” Collier said. “Fox Entertainment is an open canvas upon which we’ll create new ways to do business. It’s a startup company, albeit with roughly 26 billion dollars in valuation.”

Fox Entertainment will continue working on such programs as the NFL and WWE, as well as a “renewed commitment towards animation” with such programs as The Simpsons and Bob’s Burger, both which have been renewed.

As we find out more, we will let you know.
