It’s that time again. After months of striking successfully concluded, awards season is now alive and thriving. Hundreds of hours of exciting, moving, heartbreaking, hilarious, eye-catching, awe-inspiring, action-packed, tear-inducing, and fantastically absurd film has been watched, critiqued, discussed, and championed. Today is the first step in celebrating the amazing films of 2023 and those who brought them to life. As a voting member of the Critics Choice Association, I can confidently say that this year’s competition is tight. From the beginning of the year up until now, there have been films that live rent-free in the minds of us all.

Let’s get into it, shall we? Hosted by Chelsea Handler, the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards will broadcast live on The CW on Sunday, January 15, 2024 at 7 pm ET.

Leading the pack is Barbie with 18 nominations overall. While Best Picture, Best Comedy, Best Hair and Makeup, Best Actress for Margot Robbie, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling, and Best Supporting Actress for America Ferrera were to be expected, it captured nods for Ariana Greenblatt for Best Young Actor/Actress, and the cast garnered a Best Acting Ensemble nomination. Not far behind the Greta Gerwig film are Oppenheimer and Poor Things with 13 nominations each, including Best Picture. Killers of the Flower Moon followed closely behind with 12 nominations.

“We are so excited to celebrate this year’s remarkable projects, performances, and the people who made it all possible at the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards,” said CCA CEO Joey Berlin. “This year saw an incredible number of blockbuster hits and beautiful stories brought to life in these exceptional films.”

The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards show will be executive-produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment. The Critics Choice Awards are represented by Dan Black at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Sponsors of the Awards include Champagne Collet, Delta Air Lines, FIJI Water, Milagro Tequila, d’Arenberg and Maison L’Envoyé wines.

Without further delay, below are the nominees.
