Big Little Lies was an emotional roller coaster. While only seven episodes, the HBO show based on a novel of the same name sucked us into the lives of several mothers that looked perfect from the outside, but held dark truths underneath. The series earned multiple nominations and winnings, including Emmy’s for Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgard, and Laura Dern. At the end of the show, we are left with one dead, highly abusive husband, and a whole riff left open for the women affected by this event to deal with.
While there is no release date for season two yet, HBO has released promo footage of Meryl Streep’s character, Mary Louise Wright. Mary is Nicole Kidman’s character Celeste Wright’s mother-in-law. While Skarsgard in real life is devilishly handsome, his role as Perry sent both hatred and shivers down our spines. With Perry having died in season one’s finale, we’ll probably see police investigating what caused the death, and how everyone’s secret surrounding it will be tested under duress. Of course, I’m sure Mary would like to know why and how her son has died and if her daughter-in-law had anything to do with it. I’d also like to know, did Mary know about Perry’s violent behavior?
