As production on Black Adam draws near, exciting news continues to be released. The latest is that the DCEU has found its Doctor Fate. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pierce Brosnan has been cast in the role, making his debut in the upcoming film starring Dwayne Johnson.
Brosnan will be playing the role of Kent Nelson, the original Doctor Fate from DC Comics. Debuting in 1940, Nelson gets his powers from the magical helmet of ancient wizard Nabu, whose tomb he found during his work as an archaeologist. He joins an already impressive cast led by Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Sarah Shahi as Isis, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Marwan Kenzari.
Landing the former James bond star is a huge get for the DCEU and a masterful fit for the role.
We’ll get to see him with other members of the Justice Society in Black Adam, currently scheduled to release December 22, 2021.
