BREAKING: Iron Fist Canceled, Will Not Get 3rd Season

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8306″ img_size=”800×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]A lot can be said about Iron Fist, I know I’ve had my fair share of criticism. That being said, the second season was a massive improvement. With only ten episodes, we got a better paced season, a massively improved Danny Rand, a badass Colleen Wing, and some really intense acting by Davos himself. The second season wrapped up some storylines, while leaving others open, and unfortunately, we won’t be able to see any more development.

Iron Fist is officially canceled. The decision comes from Disney to discontinue the series, making the second season its last. That means we’ll never see Danny and Colleen reunite, both wielding the fist, we won’t know how Danny accomplished earning two fists, we’ll never find out what happens with Ward and if he gets to be a part of his baby’s life, we’ll never meet Mary’s third personality, see what happened to Joy, and if Blindspot would ever be put into the action.

“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” said Disney and Netflix’s statement. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners … We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

While I know Iron Fist was not everyone’s favorite and Jones’s performance in season one and in The Defenders was frankly terrible, I believe the actor made massive improvements for the second season. Everything was better tuned and I actually looked forward to a third season. No more Tom Pelphrey as Ward!? I’m disappointed. We can only hope to see actors like Pelphrey and Jessica Henwick in other Marvel shows, as their talent is too good to waste.
