Brent Spiner Exits ‘Supergirl’

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”3489″ img_size=”735×385″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]I had previously been excited to announce that Star Trek: The Next Generation alum Brent Spiner had been cast in CW’s Supergirl for an important role. Now, I have the misfortune of reporting that Spiner has to exit the television show, due to some family issues. Spiner was meant to play the Vice President, who would have to step up in a time of need, which to us indicates that something happens to the president in Supergirl.

Supergirl has instead cast Bruce Boxleitner as Vice President Baker. Baker is politically minded and will need to step up in a big way for the fourth season of Supergirl. Boxleitner is best known for his involvement in the Tron franchise and he is not the only new face on Supergirl. The CW show is the first to cast its first transgender superhero; Nicole Maines as Nia Nal aka Dreamer. Supergirl will return on Sundays now, starting October 14th at 8 pm.
