The way those chose to do it was to say the least, unusual and to say the most for “Bud Knight,” crushing (See above).
I have to admit, at first I thought it was a typical Bud Light commercial. You know, “Dilly, Dilly” and all that. That quickly changed when the “Bud Knight” was unceremoniously unseated and you saw who was responsible. It only got worse from there as the Mountain did to the “Bud Knight” what he did to the Viper (although not as graphically). Then Drogon showed up and literally made their party “lit” by burning the viewing stands down. This was followed by the Game of Thrones blurb about coming in April.
Apparently, there were quite a few discussions between the Bud Light folks and HBO about what went too far and what would be acceptable to CBS, who had to approve the commercial. This is all reported in an article from the Morning Star. In the end, HBO had their way.
Did you catch the Bud Light/Game of Thrones commercial? If you turned your back you might have missed it. Especially the way it started. Share your thoughts on the ad with us at GVNation.
