While this is enough to make fans happy, they would also be delighted to know that Optimus Prime has been confirmed for the Paramount sequel. The Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura officially stated that their next installment in this Bumblebee saga will feature the most well-known Autobot once again; he also then confirmed that the Transformers series will continue, featuring Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.
“We are already working on two projects and both have scripts under development,” Di Bonaventura told Japanese outlet Cinema. “One is the latest in the main family series following the events of Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee. So, we are thinking of films where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddies, but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists … how human beings get involved in their drama In the first place, the size is different between human beings and their’s …. It’s a worrying point (laughs).”
With Bumblebee’s success, it feels like the plan for expanding a Transformers universe is rejuvenated, with the studio’s writer’s room brainstorming what to bring us next. We’re hearing rumors that a Transformers One is in development, so we will let you know how that develops, as it would tell of the origins between the battle of the Autobots and Decepticons.
Are you happy to hear about Optimus Prime in Bumblebee’s sequel? Let us know!
