Call of Duty 2019 Will Be Titled: Modern Warfare and Will Be A “Soft Reboot”

Some very interesting news regarding this year’s entry into the Call of Duty franchise has just broken thanks to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier who went to Twitter with a flurry of tweets apparently confirming the title of the game as “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”.

It has been all but confirmed for a long time now that this year’s Call of Duty would take a step back from the futuristic setting of the franchise’s recent titles and even move away from the “Advanced movement” found in the Call of Duty: Black ops series to focus on a modern day shooter. Whilst there has been no official confirmation from Infinity ward themselves it appears the rumors were true.

Jason followed up with yet another tweet confirming it to be a soft reboot of the franchise.

With E3 right around the corner, we can expect and official announcement or reveal regarding this year’s Call of Duty which is looking to be a shake-up for the series.
