[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”5821″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Captain Marvel is taking place in the 1990s; this we know. The trailer was full of 90s throwbacks, including Blockbuster and awesome denim jackets. Now, we’re learning due to Disney’s Japanese website that the Carol Danvers adventure will take place in the specific year of 1995.
For anyone who agrees that “only nineties kids will remember”, almost any year in this decade is good enough. But, it is the year that Nine Inch Nails toured with David Bowie, Jurassic Park had already hit the theaters, and Toy Story and Clueless were in. In the MCU timeless specifically, 1995 was the year Matt Murdock’s dad was killed, Bruce Banner and Betty Ross begin dating, and Natasha Romanoff officially becomes a Black Widow. We’re sure that none of those events will be mentioned in the movie, but it’s just to give you an idea as to what was also going on in the nineties within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019 – officially International Women’s Day.
