The conversation whether this would indeed be Chris Evans swan song as Captain America got a little more real today. Evans took to Twitter to thank his fans and everyone who has had a part in his role as Captain America for the last eight years as he announced the wrap for his work on Avengers 4.
Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful.

Whether this is actually him saying goodbye to the role or just the emotion of what could be coming through might be debateable, but it is not a secret that Evans has hinted that it was time to move on. the fact that his contract expires after this movie would certainly indicate that could be the case. Either way, it has been a fun ride and if they decide to give someone else the Captain America mantle, that character and that actor, has huge shoes to fill. But have no doubt, they will be filled. No one is irreplaceable, but Chris Evans certainly did his best to make it so. Marvel has been pretty good at their job, so I look forward to seeing what they have in store for Captain America, one way or the other.
Does Chris Evans Twitter remarks sound like an exclamation point on his tenure as Steve Rogers or is he just doing a masterful PR spin? Share your thoughts with us at GVNation.
