With Marvel Studios preparing to move on to phase 4 of their cinematic master plan, they have commemorated the first 10 years and 20 films of the MCU with a new book: Marvel Studios: The First 10 Years. In this hard cover collectible you will find many behind the scenes stories and interviews including a conversation with the man who plays the moral guide of the Avengers, Chris Evans as Captain America. In one of these conversations, Chris was asked what was the most appealing part of playing the role of the first Avenger.

Steve Rogers is a man who wants very much to do good and serve his country in World War II, but he’s been rejected from the Army for having asthma and other health challenges. Because of his good values and morals, Steve is chosen by a man named Dr. Erskine for an experiment to create a ‘Super Soldier’. He is injected with a serum that turns him into Captain America – and Dr. Erskine knows Steve won’t take advantage of the gift of power and will always protect the weak.

Evans has embraced that role thru four and soon to be five films with this latest Avengers movie reported to be his last. If so, he has made the role his own and made it a real challenge if Marvel chooses someone else to fill the shoes of the “First Avenger.”
