When we last saw John Jones, he and his human partner had been stuck in a crash, and the big reveal of Jones not being from this planet did not go over well to say the least. Just like the first issue of this comic strip, the graphics are utterly fantastic. I absolutely love the illustration of this issue and the previous one; it’s simply colorful, and unique, while really playing on the use of swirls in almost every capacity.
Although the current storyline is the car crash that Jones and his partner are in, I love every time they show J’onn on his home planet. The way that his species communicates with each other, how their forms are not singular, and how they can connect with certain things on their planet is absolutely fascinating. I can only hope I do this description justice, but I know I won’t, so it’s simply something you are going to have to read over for yourself.
Though this issue touches upon the same poignant messages as the previous issue, it was nice to see J’onn interact more with his family. The love and personal touch that their species can achieve is something far greater than humans could. And frankly, can make anyone reading jealous. And in this issue, we’re reminded that J’onn is not someone you want to mess with in any capacity.
The end panels of this comic made you feel the internal struggle that Jones felt as he was deciding what to do with his human partner, as she, herself; was trying to come to terms with what she had just seen. As well as the betrayal of finding out who she had thought was her trusted partner was really a Martian this whole time. You gotta feel bad for girl!
Martian Manhunter #2 is number two of a 12-part maxi-series and is an absolute must read![/vc_column_text][vc_images_carousel images=”13057,13060″ img_size=”400×600″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][vc_images_carousel images=”13058,13059″ img_size=”500×384″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
