‘Cops’ Resumes Filming After Being Canceled; Will Only Premiere Internationally

Canceled doesn’t mean forever when it comes to the long-running show ‘Cops’. According to reports, production is underway in Spokane, Washington. Two ‘Cops’ film crews have already ridden with the officers of Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and Spokane Valley Deputies.

This isn’t the first time the county has hosted the show. In fact, it has a “longstanding relationship” with Langley Productions – which is the production company behind the series. Production has resumed in the United States, but a spokesperson for Langley Productions for The Hollywood Reporter that these new episodes will air strictly in international territories. This fulfills preexisting commitments.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office expressed:

“We are pleased they have decided to return, highlighting the outstanding work our Deputies provide to all of you.”

The filming has begun in September and will run into November. Sheriff Knezovich put out a press release:

“Shows like (“Cops”) highlight the work of law enforcement. They show, even for a few minutes, what the men and women out protecting our communities deal with day in and day out.”

Cops and Live PD were canceled due to the ever-growing demand for police reform in the wake of the killing of George Floyd. ‘Cops’ was going on its thirty-third season when it was dropped by Paramount. Now, it seems that international viewers will get to see this new season of Cops, though; I suppose if people in the U.S. want to watch it, it will only be a matter of time before it goes on YouTube.
