Could Peter Weller Return For Neill Blomkamp’s ‘ROBOCOP’?

It was recently reported that we would be getting a new Robocop from director Neill Blomkamp. Neill’s Robocop would not be a sequel to the abomination film we got in 2014 but instead this would be a sequel to the 1987 film from director Paul Verhoeven. This sequel would pick up after first film which would erase Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. Part 3 was PG-13 trash but I actually like parts of Robocop 2 but regardless the best film is the first so picking up after this one is getting no gripes from me. Recently Twitter user Dimitri Vegas tweeted at Neill and asked him who should play Robocop in his sequel to which Neill replied the only acceptable answer in my book – PETER WELLER!

Peter Weller is to Robocop what Arnold Schwarzenegger is to the Terminator. If by some chance they could get Peter Weller back for the sequel that would be a miracle. Nostalgia would be at an all time high and this would be a certain hit at the box office. I would even like to see Peter come back in even a cameo role if they decide to cast someone else. I love Joel Kinnaman and his Robocop film was not his fault at all. They forgot what made the first film so great and instead tried to once again PG-13 it up and make him more human. This tweet at least shows me that Neill is going to dig deep into the 1987 playbook and “I’d Buy That For a Dollar!”
