The Criterion Collection has announced six new titles to join the collection on 4K UHD and Blu-Ray in July: Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid (1973), Le Samourai (1967), Perfect Days (2023), Black God, White Devil (1964), Farewell My Concubine (1993), and Risky Business (1983). These represent an elegy for the American West from Sam Peckinpah, Jean-Pierre Melville’s masterpiece, a serene ode to everyday life in Tokyo directed by Wim Wenders, an existential western from Brazil, a breathtakingly intimate saga in twentieth-century China, and Tom Cruise’s sly satire about a suburban Chicago prepster.
