CW President Offers Update On ‘Batwoman’ Series

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1848″ img_size=”1000×675″ alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_rounded”][vc_column_text]When it was reported that Batwoman would make her debut in this year’s Arrowverse crossover event, fan’s wondered if the possible Batwoman series was still a go. To keep fan’s informed, CW president Pedowitz has offered an update on the show. He stated that Greg Berlanti is still in the early stages of development but a pilot is still on schedule to be produced for the mid-season:

“We’ll do a pilot for mid-season, whether it goes to series, I cannot tell you. We have five (DC shows) on the air and just added a sixth night.”

The official description of the series notes that Batwoman will have demons to overcome:

“Batwoman revolves around Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet: in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

The script for the so far unnamed pilot is being written by Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) who is also executive producing. Other Executive Producers include Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions and Geoff Johns. Are you hoping Batwoman joins the other CW DC heroes series beyond the planned pilot?
