Daniel Bruhl Discusses Wearing the Baron Zemo Mask In ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’

Most comic fans familiar with Baron Zemo knew him wearing his iconic Mask. While Zemo appeared in Captain America Civil War, he did so sans his mask. Now that the character will be reappearing in Disney +’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he will this time be seen wearing the famed mask. Recently, Daniel Bruhl, who will be reprising the character in the show, discussed his character and the mask with Collider. He recalled it was while filming the Alienist: Angel of Darkness that he got the call.

It was funny because Angel of Darkness was the first time I’d ever revisited something and came back to the same project again…  And then, whilst I was shooting Angel of Darkness, I got the news that they wanted me to come back to shoot The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I remember that Kari Skogland, the director, came to Budapest and we recorded something with me being Zemo.

I was very happy and enthusiastic to see the mask and it was incredibly thrilling to go back. Because I remember that I had a lot of fun being in something completely different and getting to explore the MCU and become part of that. I have the fondest memories of collaborating with all of these wonderful actors. To see Sebastian Stan again, and Anthony Mackie, this time around. And to come back to something which, on the one hand, felt common and known, and on the other hand, being something completely new and something fresh.

At this time, it is planned for the show to resume filming later this summer. Like many shows, it was hijacked by the coronavirus pandemic. Bruhl is excited to get back to work on the show. How about you? Are you excited to finally see The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when it comes to Disney +? What do you expect from Baron Zemo? Share your anticipations with us at Geek Vibes Nation.
