Daredevil Season 3 to “Return to Form” According to Netflix VP

Despite the fact that The Punisher and Elektra received a lot of praise during their breakout in Daredevil season two, the second season of the Matt Murdock centered show was not received as positively as the first season. As much as I love this show, I have to agree with the critics. I loved the Frank Castle storyline, but besides that, Murdock’s arc wasn’t all that entertaining. And what they did with him and Foggy’s friendship at the end was a little unforgivable, but clearly a trend Marvel Netflix likes to partake in i.e. Jessica Jones season two.

Although we don’t yet know when Daredevil season three will premiere, the VP of Netflix Cindy Holland assures us fans that the third season will feel like a return to the first one. It’ll be interesting to see how this is achieved considering everything that has happened since Daredevil’s first season premiered. Since we were first introduced to Nelson & Murdock, their law firm has crumbled, Karen works as a journalist, friendships are strained, and oh, everyone thinks Matt is dead. To get everything back to basics will be difficult, but I’ll also be excited to watch it happen.

As far as what Daredevil will have to contend with in season three, we know Vincent D’Onofrio returns, Who can forget probably the most formattable villains in the Netflix MCU?  Charlie Cox had only high praise for the seasoned actor, “because he’s so scary as Wilson Fisk, and he’s so big, I just know if I learn my lines, when I say them, it’s likely to work. Because so much of the acting is done for you just because of what he brings for you to a scene.” We also know what Wilson Bethel has been cast as the villain Bullseye which should make for a very interesting season of Daredevil.

Personally, I’m looking forward to Kingpin making his return and seeing the ramifications of season one and two, where he promised to take down the two lawyers who put him in prison, despite Murdock insisting it was only him. We must also remember Karen Page’s involvement, having killed Fisk’s friend Wesley. To know what season three will bring is only a waiting game and hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long for it.
