Dark Phoenix’s Alexandra Shipp Comments On Storm and T’Challa: “I Don’t Think Storm Needs T’Challa”

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”19003″ img_size=”655×370″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]While we will be seeing mutants in the MCU within the next three years or so, the actors playing them will most likely not be those involved in Fox’s X-Men universe. Dark Phoenix will be releasing soon and this will very well be the end of the current continuity, which has some fans divided. It’s been reported that Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool will most likely be the only aspect carried over and if Marvel wants to include characters such Wolverine, Professor X, and Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they’re going to recast.

At WonderCon, Alexandra Shipp, who plays Storm, commented on whether or not she’d even like to be in the MCU:

“I would and I wouldn’t (like it), because Storm barely has anything to say as it is. I don’t know about you all (other actors) but like we never talk. So it would be really nice if we weren’t piled into yet another jam packed cast, in which you only see me in the back of the shot like f***ing sasquatch.”

On top of this comment, Shipp also stated her opinion that Storm does not need to be with Black Panther, as is a common romance in the comics:

“No! No, I don’t think Storm needs T’Challa, and I think she needs her own movie! It doesn’t have to be me, it just needs to be made. A woman does not need a man in order to give her validity and she has also been around longer than him.”

What do you think? Do you want Shipp to continue her role and who would you like to see play Storm in the MCU?
