DC announces who will take over for Tom King on the ‘Batman’ title

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”29896″ img_size=”696×392″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Way back in 2016, Scott Snyder left his writing duties on the Batman title to pursue other challenges. His replacement was Tom King who took over the title starting with Batman Vol. 3, Issue 1. He has taken the writing helm ever since but now he is also ready to take on other projects. This includes the new Batman/Catwoman series along with artist Tony Daniel. With that kind of stability and a well earned fan following for his skills, DC needed to find another writer to pass the mantle to.

How fitting that it was on Batman Day that DC announced who will fill King’s shoes for Batman starting with January’s 2020 issue. DC publisher Dan DiDio made the announcement. He revealed that current Justice League and Justice League Dark scribe James Tynion IV will become the new writer for the series. He also will be teaming with artist Tony Daniel. In addition, Danny Miki will assume inking duties and Tomeu Morey will fill the coloring chores.

This will not be Tynion’s first turn at writing Batman. He was the writer for the Detective Comics series during the “Universe Rebirth” run. He also served as co-writer for Batman Eternal and Batman and Robin Eternal along with the aforementioned Scott Snyder. Details of what is to be expected for the title has not been released as of yet. Stay tuned to GeekVibesNation for further details.
