[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”13989″ img_size=”600×910″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Queen Mera is magnificent in Aquaman #44. Just as in our previous issue, the illustration could not be more beautiful, and we are introduced within the first few pages to Mera’s adoration and longing for Arthur Curry to return home. We are then brought back to when we last saw Arthur, living near the ocean with the previous old couple that we saw, oblivious as to who he really is.
We feel for Arthur, for he is shrouded in a cloud of uncertainty and confusion. The rest of the story is mostly made up of gorgeous colors and a storyline deeply rooted in mythology and fisherman’s tales, as I had stated previously in #43’s issue review. The clear connection to tales in this series is something to truly behold and if you are a fan of old mysticism and the like, then Aquaman #44 is a must read.
The end of this issue is shocking and brutal, and we hope that Arthur can regain who he was so to defeat the challenges that are laid out before him. Just as in the previous issue, this is a great series to read not only for the fantastic illustration, but for the almost bittersweet way it is written. A lot of work and care was put into this and it shows, so I truly hope that you enjoy!
