After so many issues of Arthur Curry believing himself to be a man called Andy, our hero is finally starting to learn the truth about himself. As he recovers from recent events, it is slowly, but surely coming back to him. This is really the moment we have really been waiting for; every comic book I have been reading in this fantastic series has had been waiting with bated breath for the moment that the big payoff would come. And it is beautiful really to watch the realization transpire, as this series has always been gorgeous.
Arthur Curry is the Aquaman and he realizes it while in this issue. He is beginning to see that before he lost his memories and became Andy that he was a hero and we actually have a brief panel showcasing the other members of the Justice League and while Arthur may not remember exactly who they are right away, he knows that he was with them, and fought with them.
What happens though, even when you get your memories back, but have made new memories with the people who have nursed you back to health? Taken care of you? Arthur will have to deal with that, but he also has a much bigger threat at the end of the issue.
This series is going in an interesting direction that is made apparent by the final panel. While it may not be a direction others saw coming, it is one I am going to enjoy seeing it fleshed out. Make sure you get yourself a hold of Aquaman #48 and let me know what you enjoyed about this issue![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”22092″ img_size=”500×384″ alignment=”center”][vc_images_carousel images=”22089,22090,22091,22093,22088,22087,22086,22085″ img_size=”411×631″ speed=”3000″ autoplay=”yes” wrap=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
