Wonder Comics is killing it! First with Young Justice #1 and now Naomi #1 these are two completely different comic books but have the same feel and energy. Let me explain Young Justice #1 is a life without Superman but with Naomi #1 this is a place that has not had a superhero (Supposedly) until Superman came in fighting Mongul.

I am loving Jamal Campbell art style, each panel flows perfectly with nice and vibrant colors thanks to. The page starts off with multiple different panels with students talking about the fight between Superman and Mongul. This sets the mood throughout the whole issue and it does not slow down.

I love the frustration of Naomi not able to see Superman in action. She expresses her emotion when she is talking to her therapist. This is the best few pages in this comic because it dives into the psyche of Namoi and why she wants to see Superman.

“I don’t want to be Superman.” – Naomi

“No. This is more about the fact that he is also adopted.” –

Naomi #1 is tagged “The Biggest New Mystery in the DC Universe” and does it live up to it? I think so! The big question we are trying to solve is was there a hero before Superman arrived and if so who was he/she? Also, who are Namoi true parents?

I love a good story with a big cliffhanger and this one does it right! I have a couple of guesses on the hero that was in the city before Superman and Naomi’s parents. It might be someone we know or it might be someone new. We will find out soon and I am going to be all over it!
