Since her first appearance in the pages of Batman and continuing in her story in The Joker 80th Anniversary issue, Punchline has certainly arrived. Because of her popularity, on November 10th, some of the mysteries behind this new character will be explored.
Punchline #1
Punchline #1, a special oversized (48-Page) one-shot will give the character her chance to shine. It is written by Batman scribe James Tynion IV along with Sam Johns (DC’s Crimes of Passion, Over the Garden Wall, Razorblades). In addition, art will be handled by Mirka Andolfo (DC Comics Bombshells, Hex Wives, Harley Quinn). As for covers, this one-shot will also feature a main cover by Yasmine Putri (DCeased) and variant cover by Frank Cho.
Writer James Tynion Speaks
Talking about the upcoming story, writer James Tynion IV had this to say about his character:
Back when I first introduced Punchline, I said many times that this wasn’t going to be a flash in the pan character. That I had big plans for her moving forward, that would drive big story next year and beyond. Joker War is over, but Punchline’s plans have only just begun. I’m thrilled to be telling this frightening story that expands her past, and sets up her future, with the amazing Sam Johns, and the incredible Mirka Andolfo. This is only the beginning!
