To think, in this day and age; that a character like Wade Wilson wouldn’t exist is unthinkable and we can owe the Merch with the Mouth to Liefeld. Well, you can get excited again, because the creator is teaming up with Marvel to bring us a brand new Comic Series called Major X.
Major X will be a new, 6-part mini-series that will ship twice a month from April to June and is drawn by Liefeld with some additional art from Whilce Portacio and a newcomer Brent Peebles, who is making his Marvel debut. This series will introduce never before seen conflicts in a new world of characters that are called the X-istence, alongside characters like Cable and Wolverine. This will be Marvel’s 80th year of producing great content and is incredibly excited to team back up with Liefeld for “Who is Major X?”
Below is a commentary by Liefeld from a sit down with EW:
“To me, the X-Men have always thrived on big ideas, crazy ideas. Major X introduces a new character who is certain to mix up everything in the X-world. He hails from another existence, which is called the ‘X-istence’ — a mutant Shangri-La, a safe haven that has been a realm where mutant kind has lived in peace and harmony. They escaped there following a tragedy that befell mutant kind, and built this community…but then a terrible event happens within the X-istence that causes Major X to cross over and land in the Marvel Universe that we know.”
The Editor-in-Chief for Marvel, C.B. Cebulski; added:
“I still remember when Rob made his Marvel debut, and the impact his art and storytelling had on comics. The energy and enthusiasm Rob brings to comics and every page he draws is still felt to this day, and it’s a joy to have him return to his roots with the X-Men. Rob may have started developing these X-ideas 30 years ago, but his story will leave an indelible mark on our modern mutants!”
So, what do you think about Major X? Are you excited for this six-part miniseries?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
