And it sounds like he wants to get in on the whole superhero niche, which we would all be happy to let him do. Cranston has stayed in the past that he would love a chance to play Mister Sinister and as the years have gone on, he’s expressed that his desire to portray the villain has not diminished:
“I want to play an antagonist a fraction smarter than the protagonist, never dumbed down to give the hero an easy win,” the actor explained. “That’s frustrating and boring to watch.”
He then added once the subject of Mister sinister was brought up:
“Actually, that was the character, I’ll admit,” he said. “Mister Sinister was the character I was thinking about. I guess it’s a selfish standpoint. I don’t want to do a character that has been done several times before. I don’t want to be compared like ‘well, his Commissioner Gordon was yada yada yada.’ I don’t want to do that. I want to take something that hasn’t been done.”
The upcoming X-Men movies are Dark Phoenix and The New Mutants and with the deal between Fox and Disney finalizing, perhaps we can finally have Cranston brought in for a MCU version of the X-Men.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
