Denzel Washington Open to Join the MCU or DCEU

Superhero films are not few and far in between like they once were; rather comic book inspired movies make up a lot of the box office and every year we await the next installment. Even actors like Robert De Niro is in talks to potentially show up in the upcoming Joker film, even though in the past he has shied away from less “grounded” films. And why wouldn’t any actor want to appear in a superhero film knowing how popular they are and how financially well they seem to do?

Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington has reported that he would be willing to join the MCU or DCEU. While Washington stated he had never been approached, when JOE.ie asked if he’d be open to it; he stated, “never say never”. And we in the geeky community collectively freak out and speculate what universe he’d go to and what superhero he’d play. Or even a villain. Washington has played various good guys and baddies throughout his years that he is versatile enough to play whatever he wanted.

Washington has had talks with Black Panther’s director Ryan Coogler, although about nothing official. And apparently, he paid for Chadwick Boseman’s acting studios at Oxford. Considering the all-star cast the first Black Panther movie had, the sequel would be a perfect place for Washington to get his start in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A girl can dream, can’t I?
