[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”12783″ img_size=”800×450″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Aquaman is a huge success! Now that the DCEU has knocked the Jason Momoa movie out of the park, we’re all gearing up for the next film that will hit theaters. Shazam! Zachary Levi stars as the iconic superhero and from we’ve seen in the first trailer, to behind the scene photos, this will be a new take for the DCEU that may be exactly what the DC universe has been needing.
Now, ahead of the second trailer that’s yet to be released, we have exclusive knowledge of what that trailer contains thanks to Super Bro Movies. This article will contain Spoilers so if you’re not wanting to read anything too revealing, I’d suggest turning around!
We see Billy having dinner with his foster family in the second trailer, where it will then cue to a bunch of clips from the first trailer after Victor Vasquez (Andrew Cooper) has revealed that a costumed hero has appeared in Philidelphia aka Shazam. After this little montage, we’re cut back to the dinner scene where Darla Dudley and Pedro Peña are introduced, with Pena making fun of the hero’s outfit. The next scene revisits the Wizard’s lair where Billy had gotten his powers.
Freddy and Billy are then seen discussing potential names for Billy’s new superhero persona although nothing seems to spark anything that can stick. We then see Billy (Levi) attempting to fly, where he begins to fall, but catches himself after channeling Superman, which proves even more that this movie will really touch upon the other heroes within the DCEU.
The next scene reminds me a little of the Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket fight scene in the first Ant-Man, with Shazam battling Mark Strong’s Dr. Sivana mid-air, before the scene turns to Superman and Batman action figures in a child’s hand, with him battling the two together. This is done in correspondence with the actual battle going on, all while the child is humming the theme song for the 1978 Superman film. Can we just get Henry Cavill’s Superman to meet Levi’s Shazam!?
We then see a few more montage clips, Freddy and Shazam hysterically looking at “real estate”, and the depowered Marvel family confronting Shazam. The trailer ends with Sivana asking Shazam how old is he, to which he responds “basically 15”. This trailer is incredibly meta, with Sivana throwing Shazam into a toy store where Shazam throws a large Batman toy at Sivana. Sivana and Shazam then fight on a giant keyboard, an homage to the movie Big, which inspired the film.
Shazam! will hit theaters April 5th of this year! How does this description make you feel about the movie? Are you as excited as we are?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
