20th Century Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced that the first three Die Hard films are coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 1, 2026. While the original Die Hard has previously been released on 4K UHD, Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance will make their 4K Ultra HD debuts as part of the new lineup. The legendary Die Hard franchise returns in stunning 4K Ultra HD, bringing John McClane’s iconic action-packed adventures to life in more detail than ever before. The trio of 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBooks arrives just in time for the holiday season.
Bruce Willis stars as the legendary John McClane in the Die Hard franchise, cementing the New York City cop as one of the most beloved action heroes in film history. From the original’s unforgettable Christmas Eve showdown with the infamous villain Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman, to increasingly explosive missions across Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York City, the franchise has delivered decades of nonstop thrills, memorable characters, and high-octane action sequences that continue to entertain audiences.
With the arrival of Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance in 4K Ultra HD, fans can finally experience the second and third films of the legendary franchise in jaw-dropping, crystal-clear resolution, while Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day to Die Hard will receive new artwork on digital retailers, giving all films in the franchise a fresh, cohesive look. These films will be presented in Dolby Vision with the original 5.1 audio tracks. Welcome to the party, pal!
Die Hard

Stylish and cool Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) is in Los Angeles as well for the holiday season, but he’s not there to give out presents. He’s there to take more than $600 million in negotiable bearer bonds from the multinational Nakatomi Corporation, where McClane’s wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) is an executive. When the takeover becomes hostile, it’s up to John McClane to take on the terrorists with all the grit and determination he can muster–but not without a sense of humor.
Die Hard 2
