Director Nicholas Winding Refn Would Like To Do Batgirl Film

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25545″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]With the success of the last few DC Universe films and a number more in the hopper, there has been much discussion about what the future holds. One of those films in the que is the Batgirl stand alone film. Unfortunately, other than the fact that Christina Hodson is writing the script, that’s all we know. Recently however, Director Nicholas Winding Refn has made it known he would be interested in directing a Batgirl film.

In an interview with Collider, the director of such films as Only God Forgives and Drive was asked if he had ever been approached for a Comicbook related project.

Regarding everything else, no I mean, projects that have come to me or been approached about, I’ve always decided not to do them in the end…. but the bigger kind of approaches or the offers that have come my way or the interest, in the end, I’ve always just felt that I wasn’t the right person in the end for it.

Doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. I would love to do one of those comic book (movies). I mean, me and Batgirl it’s like…we coexist….If it comes and it’s the right…and I can do my version of it or I can be part of a contribution to that, great. But if it’s not I’ll just go make something else.

So while there’s nothing on the horizon, it seems that Refn’s not ruling out the possibility. Especially where Batgirl is concerned. Would you be interested to see what Nicholas Winding Refn would do with Barbara Gordon? Share your thoughts with us at GeekVibesNation.
