Disney To Become Controlling Shareholder of Hulu

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”14643″ img_size=”900×506″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Disney really is looking to take a hold of everything, as it is now being reported that Disney will take over as controlling shareholder of Hulu.

Comcast and Hulu entered an agreement to allow Disney this full control over the streaming service. Part of the agreement also allows Comcast to require Disney to buy NBCUniversal’s interest in Hulu, as early as January of 2024. Disney can then require NBCU to sell its interest to Disney; so we will have to see what happens in the upcoming years.

Recently, Hulu announced it will be producing its own Marvel shows with Ghost Rider and Hellstrom and with Disney’s invested interest in Hulu and its broken contract with Netflix, we have to wonder how much Disney owned content will actually be on Hulu in the wake of the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
