Joker was a successful standalone DC film that raised interest in other standalone movies. However, nothing like this has been announced. Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan, though; did express in a recent Tweet that he’d love to have a go at a Clayface film. Look below:
“Well I’ve wanted to do a Superman movie since I was a kid. But I would also be really keen to do a standalone Clayface movie as a horror/thriller/tragedy.”
Considering how popular Doctor Sleep was, Flanagan is a good director to take on a project like this. As mentioned before, there’s been no mention of Warner Bros. greenlighting another standalone DC film, but it would be interesting. If Joker was so successful, why not see if that lightning can be captured again?
