Doctor Strange’s Director Was Blown Away By Joe Russo’s Pitch for Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame

Although Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame are the Russo Brother’s, they had to consult with other Marvel directors, considering that the Russo Brothers were using their characters and whatever they decided to implement in the Avengers films would effect whatever plans the individual directors had for future solo movies. Doctor Strange’s director Scott Derrickson reveals the pitch that Joe Russo revealed to him and how he was blown away from it:

“While editing Doctor Strange at Marvel, I ran into Joe Russo outside the men’s room. He pitched me the basic story for both Infinity War and Endgame. I told him that if he could make the first movie work, the second movie would be fucking incredible.”

Derrickson worked on the first Doctor Strange and will return to direct the sequel. Considering we saw Strange disappear due to the “snap” in Infinity War, it’s great to hear Derrickson so impressed by the Russo’s vision for the third and fourth Avengers films. We will see everything come together once Endgame hits theaters, which is on April 26th.
